Two Volume George Eliot Cabinet Editions - Romola I&II

Two volumes of George Eliot's Complete Works (Romola I&II), part of the Cabinet Editions, published by William Blackwood & Sons of Edinburgh, circa 1880.

Romola being one of Eliot's most ambitious novels, set in Renaissance Florence during the turbulent years following the expulsion of the all powerful Medici family, when a zealous religious reformer, Savonarola, rises to control the city.

Both volumes in lovely condition, gilt decoration to the cover and spines still bright and visible. Bindings secure and only minor wear to the tops of the spines of each as seen.
