Our Shop - 3 Bank Street

Readers...we did it again! As if we weren't busy enough in Barnsley, we expanded to a WHOLE NEW bookshop!

 

 

In June 2025, we opened our second bookshop in the Foster's family at 3 Bank Street in Ossett, West Yorkshire. It was the easiest decision we've ever made (if you come in to the shop, feel free to ask me how it came about and I'll happily regale you with the story of how I sent Mr F to Ossett Post Office for a form, and he came back with a whole new shop...)

The building is absolutely MASSIVE, with two rooms downstairs, and two rooms upstairs that will eventually also be filled with books. It also has a creepy cellar to boot, and an attic room that we converted to an office/Little F's entertainment room (because of course he claimed his own room before we'd even moved in!)

 

For now, the front room is open and boasts two walls of gorgeous walnut shelves, where we've somehow managed to cram books of every genre in! Just until the other rooms are open, and once again, we'll fill those, too, with our best loved collection of new and second hand books. 

We've already got some regular locals who are just as lovely as our Barnsley customers, and have our go-to coffee and cake spots (there are a LOT of them in Ossett, and it will inevitably be the ruin of me, because I can NEVER say no to sweet treats).

 

But really, nothing else has changed. We still run both bookshops ourselves, we're still as (maybe even more?) Chaotic as before, we just get even more people to share it with now. And its lovely to have a change of scenery now and again!

There's parking available at Illingworth Street and Ventnor Way.
And we're just a couple of minutes walk from the bus station, too!

Its been a wild ride, this second time around, and we've loved every minute of it. But I will absolutely, categorically NOT be sending Mr F on any missions anytime soon - two shops is more than enough for us to contend with....for now!
